2024 Summer Jazz in the Park

The Nelson Jazz Club are proud to host Jazz in the Park, to be held at Fairfield House Meadows area on Sunday 7 January 2024. Five bands will be featured over the day, between 3:30pm-8:30pm. Gates open from 3pm.

BANDS

3.30-4.15pm Nelson Jazz Club Big Band

An 18 piece big band styled after the great bands of the forties and fifties. Featuring some of the best jazz players and vocalists in the region, the set will get you dancing and singing through the afternoon.

4.30-5.15pm Tessa Quayle Jazz Quartet

Jazz vocalist Tessa Quayle has performed in major jazz festivals, Christmas Spectacular in the park and on the “Good Morning Show” TV1. She now leads her quartet performing unique interpretations of classic standards ranging from swing to Latin.

5.30-6.15pm Sukalati Beats

With a focus on live performance, Sukalati Beats bring a fresh and innovative approach to the scene through programmed beats, samples and live instrumentation.

6.30-7.15pm West Coast Blues

Nelson 's popular blues band led by Ivan Outram, covering legendary artists from Chicago to the southern states such as Eric Clapton and the late Gary Moore and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

7.30-8.30pm Brazilian Social Club

Known for their electrifying live performances and infectious rhythms, the band draws on a wide range of Brazilian musical traditions to showcase the high-energy celebration of Brazilian music and culture.

Note

NO BYO, delicious cocktails, beers and wines may be purchased at the bar. Audience is encourage to bring along picnic.

The event is held at Fairfield House, and not Fairfield Park which is across the road.

Parking on the Fairfield House grounds is extremely limited, so please find parking in the surrounding vicinity instead.
